Jussie Smollett Wins Oscar for ‘Most Convincing Hate Hoax’

In a performance for the ages, Jussie Smollett has taken home an Oscar for his simultaneous portrayal of both victim and perpetrator in his highly acclaimed, one-man show, “It Was Just Me.” In his brief acceptance speech, he admitted he had no one to thank but himself. Accolades from the critics have been pouring in since that cold night in downtown Chicago. “It is no small task to repeatedly kick oneself in the ribs,” exclaimed Roger Ebert. “The MAGA hat, bleach and tuna sandwich props were both ingenious and daring at the same time, but the ‘coup-de-gras’ was the self-lynching. Never in the history of stage and screen has an actor even attempted to lynch himself. Jussie pulled it off superbly.”
